  1. The competition is entitled for all photographers above the age of 16 years from around the world.
  2. Entries are limited to not more than 4 images in one section (DATE PALM TREE - Color or Monochrome).
  3. Photos must be taken by the photographer him/herself. Must be in high resolution not less than dpi 300 (2600 x 2400) Mega pixels. Photographs must be submitted in JPG format only. Photos taken by any mobile phones will not be accepted.
  4. The participant must create an account and upload the photos through the website www.datepalmphoto.com
  5. Combined work or those with added elements such as time and date of shooting and the signature of the photographer, will not be accepted.
  6. Photos transferred to black and white are accepted or modi¬fied by editing programs provided that will not change the colors or contrast of the photo.
  7. Participating photos should not be published before or participated in any other competitions, where the Award’s management has the right to reject or withdraw the prize if it proves so.
  8. By virtue of submitting an entry, the participant certifies the work as his own (Aliases are not permitted). The participant permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition.
  9. The Award’s management is entitled to reject any participating photo that does not meet the terms and conditions, with no obligation to give any justi¬fications.
  10. Last day for participating in the competition is 15/02/2021.
  11. The results will be announced during the month of February 2021 and the winner will be informed by E-mail to continue with the administrative procedures.
  12. The winners will be awarded during the month of March 2021 after the opening of the special exhibition showcasing the winners’ photos.
  13. In case of winning the participant is requested to send a copy of a valid passport and a copy of his CV showing his complete name, phone number, email address and P.O. Box. In addition to his Bank Account number in English (Complete name + Bank Name and Branch City + A/C Number + Swift Code) so as to be able to send the money honorarium.
  14. Participation terms in the competition are ¬final and submitting a participation and completing the online registering for the competition is considered a prior agreement to the above-mentioned terms.
  15. The participant permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition. This may include low resolution posting on a website.
  16. Decision of the International jury is final and review is not accepted or its decision cannot be appealed.
  1. I grant full ownership rights of the picture, in case of winning (including all elements in the picture).
  2. The provided picture is not copied, nor has any element owned by others.
  3. The entire ownership rights of the picture, inclusive of the creative ideas portrayed, belongs to me.
  4. The presented pictures rights, was not given (in any way), sold, allocated, licensed, or suspended to any other party that prevents using it.
  5. I have obtained all the needed approvals from all concerned parties of the submitted picture, and has been granted the approval to publish it in books, publications or exhibitions under the conditions above.
  6. I authorize and agree that the Award to display the submitted picture in exhibitions organized by the General Secretariat inside or outside the UAE.
  7. I also agree that the Award or whoever it authorizes, to reproduce the participating picture, and publish them in various media channels, to promote the competition.
  8. The terms and conditions of participating in the competition are definitive, and is considered as an acknowledgment and a prior approval of the above-mentioned.

The Award’s General Secretariat launched a competition which is unique of its kind at the regional and international levels to photograph the date palm tree. The competition’s title is «Date Palm Through the Eyes of the World» in cooperation with international specifications accredited by the International Federation of Photographic Arts (FIAP) and the Union of Arab Photographers (UAP), and Abu Dhabi International Association for Photography.

The competition aims to enhance the relationship between man and the date palm tree through employing the art of photography as a mean to develop the public awareness of the importance of the date palm tree. It aims as well to create an ample area to exchange expertise between photographers worldwide and to show the touristic, environmental and traditional elements of the date palm tree through the photograph and to encourage man›s ties with the land and agriculture.

  4. People and the close relation with the date palm tree.
